Myrthe Buijs is a Dutch-born multi-disciplinary artist, songwriter, singer, nature photographer and property developer based in Noordhoek, Cape Town. Born 13 April 1973, Amsterdam. Moving to Montagu, Western Cape, November 2026.

Education

European Business Administration, at Holland University of Applied Sciences (1994—1999). Exchange year at IPAG Business School, École de Commerce, Nice, France. Cape Town School of Songwriting, certified April 2019. Licensed Estate Agent, Estate Agency Affairs Board. Lived in The Netherlands, France (Nice), Greece (Kos Island) and South Africa, Cape Town since 2001.

First album "The Music Within" were cover songs in her own unique styles. Her next album will be her own songs, some already released under Spiritbird Creations with AI vocals. Watch this space, her wicked almost disturbing headvoice lends itself well to alternative rock and Modern Noir. But she also has a very soothing voice for light smooth Jazz. Her voice has many shades and colours. Her voice control has grown a lot over the years and she can improvise and come up with creative covers of any song at any time.

Other Achievements

Represented the Netherlands in horse vaulting at European Championships (Poland) and World Championships (Sweden).

She overcame Major Depression in 2015 induced by pharma in aid to stop smoking. She now considers herself an anti-pharma activist. She also was in a wheelchair in 2019 unable to walk for months, bedridden for many years, due to Neuro Lyme disease (4th stage), and chronic Mono (just like Justin Bieber), currently close to remission but her immune is always compromised and she needs to manage this each day. She managed to do this without help of the medical world nor help from health insurance due to inaccurate testing. She had to stop performing singing due to the illness and spend years just trying to survive, in the literal sense of the word. She nearly died a few times. These life experiences filter through in her songwriting and singing. Montagu has a drier climate and non-allergenic vegetation, which is helping her health improvement and management a lot.
